Marty Mygan and his family in Pawling, NY

A Neighbor, Not a Politician

I am a retired Verizon lineman who was with the company for 22 years. Throughout my Verizon employment I was an active member of CWA Local 1103. I've been married to my wife Karen for 25 years, and we raised our two sons — Daniel, age 24, and Mark, age 20 — in Pawling. We love this community and our caring neighbors, strong public schools, and beautiful green spaces.

Dedicated to Service

Giving back to my community is important to me. Over the past 20 years, I've built strong relationships with neighbors, small business owners and community organizations. I was elected to the Cedar Valley Homeowner's Association Board in 2021 and worked to eliminate thousands of dollars in unnecessary taxes on the development's common areas. In 2023, I successfully ran for the Pawling Town Board to fight for transparency, ethics and fiscal responsibility. Now, I am ready to expand my service and represent the residents of District 23 in Dutchess County.

Marty's Values

Integrity

Marty believes in honesty and telling the truth – even when it's hard to hear. He's fought for transparency in Pawling town government and ethical standards for elected officials. He will continue that fight in the County Legislature.

Accountability

Marty believes that elected officials are public servants who are accountable to the voters. He respects taxpayers and will advocate for the more efficient spending of hard-earned tax dollars. Marty will always be accessible and accountable to residents.

Community

Dutchess County is Marty's home – and has been for a long time. He's built strong relationships with neighbors, businesses and community organizations by listening to constituents. He's committed to providing that same level of personal attention to county residents.
